Jesse writes about his work saying, "My paintings strive to
investigate the subjective meanings of color, texture, pattern,
and line.
"Many people, I believe, are intimidated by abstract art because
they cannot discern its supposed intended message. To connect
with my paintings do not look so hard. Just pay attention to what
they bring to mind or how they make you feel. You are more capable
of understanding them than I am. I see the materials, mistakes,
technique, and process. The most successful of my works may be
interpreted in many different ways, but often a consistent theme
inheres. I believe this consistent theme demonstrates there is
common human language among the forms, though we will each relate
to them according to our own experience and perspective."
Jesse Corning has lived most of his life in southern Ontario, Canada,
