Levee (Mad River Slough), Humboldt Bay, California, 2005
Levee (Mad River Slough) was photographed at low tide on
the evening of July 4, 2005. This southeastern view reveals the
spread of Spartina Densiflora, an invading cord grass first
established in the late 1860's. Seen also is the native pickle
weed and Cuscuta Salina, a parasitic plant.
