Ponderosa and Piñon Pine, Paria Plateau, Arizona, 2005
Ponderosa and Piñon Pine was photographed in the morning
of August 18, 2005. Growing from a crack in the Navajo Sandstone (formed
from ancient wind-blown sand dunes) and watered from sporadic rain and
snow these trees are much older than comparable trees their size.
